RODA, Pedrali, Gommaire and More: A Guide to the European Outdoor Furniture Brands We Bring to India

People often ask me why we work with so many different European brands instead of settling on one or two. The honest answer is that no single brand does everything well. Some are better suited to a minimalist hotel lobby, others to a warm, textured family home, and others to a coastal property that needs to survive salt air for fifteen years without complaint. Over the years we have built relationships with manufacturers whose strengths complement each other, and this piece is meant to walk through what each one actually brings to the table, since most of these names are still not widely known in India outside design circles.

RODA Outdoor Furniture

RODA

RODA is probably the brand people recognise first once they have spent any time researching European outdoor furniture, and for good reason. Based in Italy, RODA is known for combining architectural design with genuinely serious material engineering, particularly in their aluminium and teak collections. It tends to suit high end residential projects and design forward hospitality spaces where the furniture itself is meant to be a visual statement rather than sitting quietly in the background. If a client wants something that photographs beautifully and still holds up to daily outdoor exposure, RODA is usually where we start the conversation.

Pedrali

Pedrali

Pedrali comes from a slightly different design philosophy, leaning more toward clean, functional forms that work well in commercial and hospitality settings without feeling sterile. We tend to recommend Pedrali for hotel terraces, restaurant patios, and workspaces where furniture needs to handle heavier daily use while still looking considered. Their range also tends to work well in coastal projects, since a number of their collections are built with corrosion resistance in mind from the outset.

Gommaire Outdoor Furniture

Gommaire

Gommaire has a distinct character compared to the other brands we carry, built around natural materials, handcrafted detailing, and a warmer, more textured aesthetic. This is the brand we usually bring up when a client wants their outdoor space to feel closer to an extension of their living room than a separate patio setup. It suits farmhouses, villas, and residential projects where the brief leans toward comfort and warmth over sharp minimalism.

4 Seasons Outdoor

4 Seasons Outdoor

4 Seasons Outdoor, from the Netherlands, has built its reputation specifically around all weather performance, and their synthetic wicker collections are some of the most durable we have sold in humid Indian conditions. This is the brand we point people toward most often for Mumbai, Goa, and East India, where constant moisture is the biggest threat to furniture longevity. It gives clients the woven, natural look they usually want without the maintenance concerns that come with real rattan in a humid climate.

Sika Outdoor Furniture

Sika

Sika, also working extensively with synthetic wicker and rattan, sits alongside 4 Seasons Outdoor as one of our go to recommendations for humid and coastal regions. Their designs tend to lean slightly more traditional, which suits certain hospitality projects and homes where a client wants a classic look rather than a strictly contemporary one.

Talenti Outdoor Furniture

Talenti

Talenti brings a distinctly Italian sensibility, somewhere between RODA's architectural edge and a more relaxed, livable feel. Their aluminium ranges hold up particularly well in dry, hot conditions, which makes them one of our stronger recommendations for North India, Central India, and inland Gujarat.

Scolaro

Rols and Scolaro

Rols, working in outdoor textiles and marine grade metalwork, tends to come up specifically for coastal projects that need serious resistance to salt corrosion. Scolaro, known primarily for parasols and shade structures made in Italy, is often the piece that completes a project once the seating and tables are decided, particularly for properties that need substantial shade coverage across a large outdoor area.

Choosing Between Them

If there is one piece of advice I would give someone trying to choose between these brands, it is to start with the project's climate and use case rather than the aesthetic alone. Two projects that look similar on a mood board can need entirely different materials depending on whether one sits in Delhi's dry heat and the other on Kerala's coast. We are happy to walk through this with anyone specifying furniture for a project, whether that means a showroom visit in Delhi or a conversation over email and photographs for a project elsewhere in India.
